After the successful completion of the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League, BCCI secretary, Jay Shah on late Monday announced a hefty cash reward for the curators and groundsmen, who worked at the different venues of this season's lucrative league.
Appreciating their work, Shah called them the unsung heroes and announced a total of 1.25 crore of prize money. 'I'm pleased to announce prize money of 1.25 crores for the men who gave us the best games in IPL 2022. The unsung heroes - our curators and groundsmen across 6 IPL venues this season' Shah wrote in a Tweet on Monday evening.

This is for the first time that the Indian cricket board is giving away heavy incentives to the groundsmen. While DY Patil, CCI, Maharashtra Cricket Association and Wankhede that hosted the league games would get 25 lakhs each, Eden Garden and Narendra Modi stadium would get 12.5 lakhs each.
Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans won the 2022 IPL trophy in their maiden season in the just concluded tournament.
