It was a big blow for Chennai Supar Kings (CSK) when their key players, Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad suffered injuries during India's white-ball series against West Indies in February.
While the 2022 season of the IPL is just days away, CSK's team management is still waiting for an update on their fitness status, said the franchise's CEO, Kashi Vishwanathan.
While Gaikwad suffered an injury in his hand, Chahar sustained a hamstring tear. CSK's most expensive buy, Chahar needs to stay out for at least 6-8 weeks to recover from the injury which means he will at least miss the first phase of the lucrative league if not the complete season.

Vishwanathan however, said that BCCI has told the franchise that both the players who are currently under rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy are match fit.
The defending champions are set to begin their campaign on March 26th against Kolkata Knight Riders.
