Mahendra Singh Dhoni's decision to quit CSK's captaincy has been the major point of discussion for the past few days. His companionability with Stephen Fleming and a strong rapport with his coaches has been the hallmark of CSK's success. However, a former IPL coach who had worked with Dhoni revealed quite a different story. Back in 2016, Prasanna Agoram was hired as a performance coach for now-defunct Rising Pune Super Giants where Dhoni was the captain. Agoram calls his first encounter with Dhoni 'unforgettable'.

Recalling his first exchange with Dhoni, Agoram wrote for Cricbuzz that he met the MS at Pune stadium in 2016 where they had a chat for a while. Dhoni told the Agoram to give all the info and strategies to the coach and players, also to get the strategy meetings done with the players along with the coach but not to expect him to be there. Dhoni further asked Agoram to not give any advice until he asks for it by himself.
