In what can be a major boost for the Chennai Super Kings, their ₹14 crore signing Deepak Chahar should be fit to play IPL 2022 from mid-April.
According to reports, the pacer won't need surgery following a quadriceps tear he sustained during the T20 series vs the West Indies. Chahar is currently under an 8-week rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. But CSK, which has already started training for the IPL in Surat, wants the all-rounder to join the camp in about 2 weeks.
The Super Kings want to monitor his fitness and are looking to get him fit as soon as possible. CSK will open its campaign against KKR on March 26.
