Chasing a tricky 170-run target, Wriddiman Saha and Shubman Gill provided Gujarat a steady start, and the duo put up 51-run opening stand. Bangalore spinners then took crucial wickets in the middle overs and it seemed at one point in time that Bangalore could end the Gujarat winning run. But then came their finishers, David Miller and Rahul Tewatia, who stitched a 79-run stand and win the game for Gujarat with three balls to spare.
Earlier, Virat Kohli came out of a prolonged slump in form after captain Faf du Plessis fell early. Kohli stitched a 99-run stand with Rajat Patidar for the second wicket and provided the stage for the big-hitters for the late flourish. Kohli made 58 off 53 balls before walking back to the dugout while Patidar blasted a 32-ball 52. Glenn Maxwell's 33-run cameo off 18 deliveries helped RCB reach 170-6.
