Chasing a tricky 179-run target, Lucknow were off to a horrid start as they managed to score only 34 runs in the powerplay and lost three wickets. Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya then came together to put LSG's ship back on track with a 65-run stand. But Lucknow's innings faltered after Krunal's dismissal and managed to score 154-8 in 20 overs.
Earlier, Yashasvi Jaiswal started the proceedings for Rajasthan on a confident note. After the dismissal of Jos Buttler, Samson joined Jaiswal in the middle. Samson looked in good touch and steadied the Royals' ship with a 66-run stand with Jaiswal. Yashasvi top-scored with 41 while Devdutt Padikkal blazed away to an 18-ball 39 as Rajasthan Royals posted 178 for six in 20 overs.
