The start of IPL 2022 has been a nightmare for the 4-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings as they had lost 4 consecutive matches but the team bounced back in their previous match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). While Ruturaj Gaikwad’s form concerns the team, Robin Uthappa has been a delight so far. Shivam Dube has been looking amazing as he has scored 207 runs in 5 matches. Chennai’s bowling unit is yet to prove its quality and is one of the reasons for their 4 losses. However, CSK’s captain Ravindra Jadeja and Maheesh Theekshana looked great in the previous match.
Gujarat Titans have been enjoying their maiden IPL season so far. Shubhman Gill has been looking in good form but Mathew Wade is struggling with his bat this season. The middle order of Gujarat isn’t looking good with Vijay Shankar and David Miller as they are also out of form. Captain Hardik Pandya isn’t just captaining his side very well but is also doing great with bat and bowl. Hardik has taken 4 wickets so far and is the second batsman with the most runs in IPL 2022. Rahul Tewatia and Abhinav Manohar are also the big positives for the team. Gujarat’s bowling unit is strong as they have Mohammad Shami, Rashid Khan, Varun Aaron, and Lockie Ferguson on the team.
This is the first meeting between the two teams.
