Delhi Capitals bought Shardul Thakur for ₹10.75 crore in the IPL 2022 mega auction on Saturday. The all-rounder had a base price of ₹2 crore.
Delhi and Punjab Kings were involved in a bidding war for Shardul but interestingly CSK didn't bid for their former star. Chennai had earlier spent ₹14 crore on Deepak Chahar. Deepak Chahar has been in sublime form of late. While he has scored some crucial runs at a good strike rate lower down the order for India, Thakur has also been a partnership breaker.
