Lucknow Super Giants' mentor Gautam Gambhir has picked uncapped player Avesh Khan as the team's most important buy on Day 1 of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction in Bengaluru.
In a conversation with Sports tak, Gambhir explained that Jason Holder and Quinton de Kock were the important buys for the franchise given their multi-utility capabilities.
However, he added that Avesh Khan was the most important buy for the team given the 25-year-old pacer can bowl at an express speed of 140-145 kmph and there were very few Indian bowlers who can bowl at that speed.
Earlier, Avesh Khan became the most-expensive uncapped player in IPL history after Lucknow Super Giants bagged him for a whopping Rs 10 crore at the IPL 2022 Auctions.
