Royal Challengers Bangalore will decide on their captain for the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League after the conclusion of the IPL Mega Auction.
In a virtual press conference, RCB's Director of Cricket Mike Hesson said that Bangalore have four strong players, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Faf du Plessis and Josh Hazlewood, in the leadership group and the decision will be taken after the auction.
However, while talking to Star Sports, Harshal Patel reckoned that with the experience of du Plessis the franchise might appoint the South African as the new captain.

RCB bagged du Plessis for Rs 7 crore while bought Josh Hazlewood for Rs 7.75 crore. Meanwhile, Indian bowler Harshal Patel and Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga were their costliest buy with Rs 10.75 crore each.
Earlier, the Bangalore-based franchise retained their former captain Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Mohammed Siraj.
