Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals set the pace for the rest of the season as they register their 2nd consecutive win against Mumbai Indians in the 9th Match of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League on Saturday.

Sent in to bat first, Jos Buttler hammered Mumbai's attack and smashed a 68-ball century which included 11 fours and five sixes in his 68-ball innings. Skipper Sanju Samson (30 off 21 balls) played a useful knock as he and Buttler stitched up an 82-run stand for the third wicket. A 35-run cameo from Shimron Hetymar, studded with three sixes and as many fours helped RR post a 194 run target.

In reply, Prasidh Krishna and Navdeep Saini began Rajasthan's game on a high note as they removed Rohit Sharma and Anmolpreet Singh quickly. Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma then took the charge and added crucial 54 off 43 and 61 off 33 before getting dismissed by Trent Boult and R Ashwin respectively. The team never recovered after that, as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. MI finished the innings at 170/8 after Navdeep Saini scalped Kieron Pollard's wicket on the last ball of the game.

MI next play KKR on 6th April and RR set to face RCB on 5th April in their 3rd match in IPL 2022.
