Dewald Brevis, popularly known as 'Baby AB' became the talk of the town after his flamboyant show at the Under-19 World Cup. On the back of his exploits during the tournament where he became the leading run-scorer, the youngster from South Africa earned a contract with the 5-time IPL winners, Mumbai Indians.
MI bought the 18-year-old all-rounder, whose sensational batting style resembles AB de Villiers, for Rs 3 crores in the mega auctions.
Brevis with his consistent performance starred in the Under-19 World Cup that India won. The youngster amassed as many as 506 runs in 6 innings at an average of 84.33, including 2 hundred and 3 fifties, and also took 7 wickets. He was adjudged the player of the tournament.

With IPL approaching, all eyes will be on the youngster who is currently practicing with the MI squad. They will play their first match against Delhi Capitals on 27th March. If he keeps up with his form at the cash-rich league, Brevis will have every chance to make a breakthrough in the senior South African team.
