After 5 losses on the trot, Kolkata Knight Riders finally made a comeback with a win over Rajasthan Royals on Monday evening. The Shreyas Iyer-led side defeated Rajasthan by 7 wickets at the Wankhede Stadium in IPL 2022.

Chasing a modest 153, Kolkata lost their openers Aaron Finch and Baba Indrajith in the powerplay itself. Thereafter Shreyas Iyer alongside Nitish Rana brought the game back on track. The skipper, however, fell to Trent Boult after playing a crucial innings of 34 in 32 balls. With the able support from Rinku Singh, Nitish Rana continued on his momentum, as they together built an unbeaten 66-run partnership off 38 balls that helped KKR win the match with 5 balls to spare.
Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders who chose to bowl first, got off to a great start as they removed Devdutt Padikkal early. Post that, Buttler fell after scoring a sluggish 22. Skipper Sanju Samson with his aggressive approach smashed 7 fours and a six in his 49-ball-54 before falling to Shivam Mavi. Later, Shimron Hetmyer provided a late charge with his 27-run cameo that lifted Rajasthan past a 150-run total.
