IPL 2022: SRH's captain Kane Williamson fined for slow over-rate

Sunrisers Hyderabad's captain Kane Williamson was fined ₹12 lakh as the team failed to complete their quota of overs in the specified time limit in their match against Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday at the MCA Stadium in Pune. In a one-sided match, Rajasthan beat Sunrisers Hyderabad hands down by 61 runs.

Kane Williamson became the second captain after Rohit Sharma this season to be fined for slow over-rate. "The Sunrisers Hyderabad have been fined after they maintained a slow over-rate during their IPL 2022 match against Rajasthan Royals at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune on March 29," the IPL stated in a media release.

Kane was fined under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences. Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson was fined ₹12 lakhs.

Rajasthan Royals played brilliantly throughout the game and performed extremely well in all departments to register a 61-run win against the 2016 Champions Sunrisers Hyderabad.
