A DRS decision during the Chennai Super Kings vs Delhi Capitals match has sparked a debate on social media, with netizens aghast at the third umpire's call.
The incident took place during the 4th over of the innings when Lalit Yadav was bowling to Devon Conway. The Kiwi batter was the beneficiary as third umpire Anil Chaudhary struck down a Delhi Capitals review for lbw, citing there was a spike on Ultra Edge.
However, to everyone's surprise, only the umpire Chaudhary seemed to be convinced there was an edge on Conway's sweep before the ball struck his pad. For everyone concerned, the decision came as a shocker since the murmur on the Ultra Edge was minimal, and usually the tiniest of spikes get discounted.
The spike on the Ultra Edge is usually much bigger when there's some wood involved, and in this case, it was nowhere close.
Conway though couldn't make most of the reprieve since he departed in the very next over.
