An emotional Hardik Pandya, the Gujarat Titans skipper shared the space with his brother & stand-in LSG captain Krunal Panya when he walked out for the toss between Gujarat and Lucknow.
Hardik remembered his father and said, 'It's an emotional day, our father would have been proud. this is something happening for the first time, so our family is proud. One Pandya will win today'
Pandya brothers, Hardik and Krunal scripted history at IPL 2023 as they became the first set of brothers to captain either side in an IPL match. Krunal is leading the Lucknow Super Giants in the absence of their skipper KL Rahul who has been ruled out of IPL after he suffered a thigh injury.
While Hardik has captained the Indian team on multiple occasions and is leading GT for the second year after winning the title in their debut season, Krunal has led the Baroda team in domestic cricket and was elevated to the role of LSG captain in the absence of regular skipper KL Rahul.

The LSG skipper has also been ruled out of the World Test Championship final in which India will take on Australia at The Oval in London from June 7.
Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and elected to bowl against Gujarat Titans in an Indian Premier League match.
LSG made one change, they have brought in Quinton de Kock for Naveen-ul-Haq, while Ireland's Josh Little, who returned home to take part in teh 3-match ODI series against Bangladesh, is unavailable for Gujarat Titans.
