Kolkata Knight Riders may be coming off a loss but are charged up to return to winning ways, as they take in the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. Basking in their only win this season against the Delhi Capitals, Mumbai will hope to continue on the path of victory, keeping their IPL campaign on track.
However, the hosts will be under added pressure, as they have not been able to harness their potential so far in IPL 2023.
Despite skipper Rohit Sharma’s spectacular innings against Delhi, MI still face consistency issues as the team’s other big hitter Suryakumar Yadav battles a poor form this season.
With two wins and as many defeats, KKR have had their share of highs and lows and are placed fourth on the points table as compared to Mumbai Indians who are ninth with just two points.
The team from Kolkata has consistently excelled with the bat and the ball in IPL 2023. Explosive batters and a terrific bowling attack have helped Kolkata stay afloat, an indication that Mumbai will have to put their best foot forward to score their second win.

Kolkata could turn to one of the three foreign players in its camp, Jason Roy, Litton Das or Tim Southee to replace Russell.
Jofra Archer is yet to make a return to the Mumbai Playing XI since their first match against Bangalore following some fresh elbow trouble. Jason Behrendorff and Riley Meredith have had to shoulder fast-bowling responsibilities for MI without the Englishman.
