If the devastating loss at the hands of MS Dhoni’s men was not enough, Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Virat Kohli was fined 10% of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the match in Bengaluru.
Kohli was reportedly sanctioned for his aggressive celebration after the wicket of Shivam Dube, who unleashed a storm on the RCB bowlers Monday evening.
A statement by the IPL read, ‘Mr. Kohli admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct.’
For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding.
Monday evening was not Kohli’s best day at work after he departed for just 6 in the first over itself when his team was chasing a massive target of 228.
