England all-rounder Will Jacks has been ruled out of the entire IPL 2023 due to a muscle injury, reported ESPNCricinfo.
Jacks who was bought by the Faf du Plessis-led side for 3.2 crores during December's auction hurt himself while fielding in the 2nd ODI against Bangladesh in Mirpur. The all-rounder had to be ruled out after scans and consultation with a specialist, the report further said.
The 24-year-old was expected to a major role in the upcoming season given the uncertainty around Glenn Maxwell's fitness who will be returning to competitive cricket after a break of 5 months.
As per the ESPNCricinfo report, the franchise is hoping to rope in New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell as Jacks' replacement for the season.
