Sunrisers Hyderabad's highest IPL total was in danger of being shattered just a week after the record was made as the Kolkata Knight Riders ran riot in Vizag on Wednesday.
With just 14 runs needed off the last over, it seemed that KKR would cross 277 but just 8 runs of the final over meant that they scored 272/7. Nevertheless, it's still the second-highest team total in the history of IPL.
It all began when Sunil Narine did what he does best, rip apart the bowlers in the powerplay. He took it a step further this time and smashed 85 off just 39 balls, his highest score in T20 cricket.
He found a willing ally in Angkrish Raghuvanshi who matched him shot after shot. The 18-year-old had a dream IPL debut as he smashed a 27-ball-54.
It was the Andre Russell show post that as he muscled 41 off just 19 balls to help KKR finish at a mammoth 272/7 in 20 overs. He smashed 3 sixes and completed his 200th maximum for the Knight Riders.
