As Mustafizur Rahman prepares to join the Bangladesh national team for their upcoming series against Zimbabwe, he received a memorable parting gift from none other than Mahendra Singh Dhoni — a signed jersey by the legendary cricketer. This gesture marked a poignant moment for Rahman, who has been an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lineup in this season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

During his stint with CSK, Mustafizur proved to be a key player, securing 14 wickets across 9 matches. His performance was a significant factor in many of the team's successes this season. As he bid farewell to the team, 'Fizz' took to his social media platforms to express his gratitude towards Dhoni, who has been a mentor and leader during his time at CSK.

“Thanks for everything Mahi bhai. It was a special feeling to share the same dressing room with a legend like you. Thanks for keeping faith in me every time. Appreciating your valuable tips, I will remember those things. Looking forward to meeting and playing with you again soon,” Mustafizur posted, reflecting his admiration and respect for Dhoni.

The left-arm pacer's departure comes at a crucial time in the IPL season as CSK currently stand fifth on the points table. The team is at a juncture where every match could significantly impact their chances of qualifying for the playoffs. Mustafizur's absence is expected to be felt, particularly in the bowling department.

To fill the void left by Rahman, CSK will likely turn to Richard Gleeson, who joined the team as a replacement for Devon Conway earlier in the season. Gleeson, along with Matheesha Pathirana — who missed the last game—will be expected to step up and deliver performances that could help sustain CSK’s campaign in the absence of their key pacer.

Mustafizur's departure comes due to his commitments to the Bangladesh national team as they gear up for the T20 World Cup starting June 1. Bangladesh is set to kick off their World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka in Dallas on June 7, followed by a match against South Africa in New York on June 10, before heading to the Caribbean Islands for their remaining group games against the Netherlands and Nepal.
