Some of the boys from India's World Cup-winning Under-19 team may not be able to enrol their names for the IPL Mega Auction 2022 as the BCCI rules won't allow them to do so. According to the rules, only those Under-19 players are allowed to register their names who have played at least one first-class match or a List-A game.

However, the Indian board is expected to allow them to list their names and make this a one-time exception given almost no amount of domestic cricket was played during the two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, according to an Indian Express report.
The veteran BCCI administrator Ratnakar Shetty also came in support of the Under 19 stars and said that it is unfortunate that these boys weren't able to play List-A tournaments as Under-19 and List A matches were played simultaneously. As many as eight Under-19 boys could not be allowed to put in their names if BCCI adheres to its existing rules. Among eight players, the notable ones are vice-captain Shaik Rasheed, wicketkeeper Dinesh Bana, left-arm pacer Ravi Kumar and all-rounder Nishant Sindhu.
