Maharashtra to host league stage of IPL 2022, confirms BCCI president Sourav Ganguly

As the dates of the IPL 2022 mega auction approach, the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has confirmed that the league stage of the cash-rich tournament will take place in India with Mumbai and Pune being the venues.

While talking to Sportstar, Ganguly said the IPL 2022 will take place in India unless Covid-19 numbers hit the roof.

He further elaborated that BCCI is looking to host the matches in Maharashtra and the call on the venue for playoffs will be taken later.

The IPL 2022 mega auction is scheduled to take place on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru and franchisees need a clear picture of the pitch and ground conditions before bidding for the players in the auction.
