Punjab Kings pacer Kagiso Rabada has returned home to South Africa after suffering a lower limb soft tissue infection during the ongoing IPL.

A statement by Cricket South Africa revealed that upon reaching South Africa, Rabada consulted a specialist and is being closely monitored by the Cricket South Africa medical team.

As a consequence, the 28-year-old will miss Punjab's last two league fixtures. PBKS have already been eliminated from the current season.

The CSA statement further said, 'His preparation for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in West Indies and USA are not expected to be affected.'
