Sunrisers Hyderabad might have had one of the worst evenings of their IPL 2024 campaign so far on May 21 against KKR in the Qualifier 1 in Ahmedabad.

Pat Cummins' team was defeated by 8 wickets after being restricted to a poor 159 for 10 in the first innings.

Kolkata bowlers left nothing to chance with the renowned Hyderabad batters in front of them and ran through the line-up to give their team an easy pass into the final.

Addressing the media after their loss, SRH assistant coach Simon Helmot said, 'Definitely not anything to do with the toss. Unfortunately, today wasn't our day. They bowled very well, up front. I think this ground has shown that you can, you know, score big in the first innings and put pressure on the opposition so, yeah, just wasn't our day.'

Helmot added that his team struggled to get consistency with both bat and ball, 'Oh, the conversation is you're always in the game. You've got 160 runs to defend so we need to bowl and field as best we possibly can. But yeah, we just struggled tonight to sort of get any consistency or momentum in the game.'

He went on to praise their opponents while also looking ahead for the second Qualifier in the same breath stating that when you're off your just slightly, and the opposition, they finished top for a reason so the pressure is bound to be there.

'But we'll just very quickly push this game aside and we look forward to our next game on the 24th (the Qualifier 2).'
