After his 'behave' comment irked cricket enthusiasts, Sanjay Manjrekar is now facing fans' ire for a remark he made ahead of the Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru toss.
The hosts, Rajasthan, are donning an all-pink kit with an aim to promoting women's empowerment in the state. Before going ahead with the coin toss, Manjrekar explained this to viewers.
Sanju Samson, the RR skipper, also presented Faf du Plessis with a solar lamp created by women entrepreneurs.
Returning to the impending toss at hand, Manjrekar began by saying, 'Now back to serious business.'
The comment, indicating that RR's initiative as well as the entire pre-toss presentation as something nominal, has not gone down well with fans.
Several called out the former India player stating, 'These people can’t even do tokenism properly.'
One said, '“Back to serious business.” That wasn’t good Mr Manjrekar.'
Another social media user harked back to Manjrekar's 'behave' comment during an MI match and stated, '
After speaking about RR's noble PINK initiative, Sanjay Manjrekar told, "Now let's get back to serious business....." Behave, Mr. Manjrekar!'
