Kolkata Knight Riders registered an emphatic 24-run win over the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday and it would not have been possible without an all-round contribution.

The Knights are placed second on the points table and just a couple wins from securing their play-off berth.

An ecstatic Mitchell Starc, who claimed 3 wickets himself, addressed the post-match press conference in Mumbai stating that it has been fantastic, as they sit second so they're doing really well.

Speaking about his return to the league, Starc remarked, 'It's been great to be back in the time, it's been a long time. It's obviously getting to know a new group and seeing how a new group operate and, and the role in that group as well.'

The Australian was all-praise for the way KKR have performed in 2024, 'And I think, it's been a feature of our team. It's not really been 1 or 2 guys that have performed in the 10 games. It's been guys throughout, obviously, our opening partnership, and that's been fantastic throughout the tournament.'

As Nuwan Thushara ripped through Kolkata's top-order, the responsibility laid with Venkatesh Iyer and the rest of the middle line-up to build back up and Starc shed light on his performance as well, 'But today we needed to rebuild through the middle. And Venky (Venkatesh Iyer) was fantastic with Manish (Pandey) there to to put a great total on the board to defend, that we thought, after the start.'

In conclusion, the pacer was certain as the business-end of the tournament nears, everyone in the team needs to step up again adding that to come away with a really solid win was fantastic.
