The Lucknow Super Giants got a major boost on Wednesday as speed sensation Mayank Yadav returned to training. He bowled in full flow in the nets as LSG geared up to face the Chennai Super Kings on Friday.
Mayank had picked up a niggle during his side's game against the Gujarat Titans on April 7. The 21-year-old bowled an over but never looked 100% during those 6 deliveries and left the field.
He missed the next two games against DC and KKR, both of which LSG lost.
Head coach Justin Langer had stated ahead of the game against Delhi, "We had an MRI scan, and there is a very, very small swelling in his hip. So we are very hopeful he'll start building himself up and be back bowling again soon."
Mayank had impressed in just the 2 games he played and picked up 6 wickets. He rose to the limelight with his express pace and regularly clocked over 150 kmph. Interestingly, he bowled the faster ball of the season when Mayank clocked 156.7 kmph against RCB.
