Ruturaj Gaikwad may have been the top run-scorer for the Chennai Super Kings, Shivam Dube may have smashed a fiery 66 but it was MS Dhoni who once again stole the limelight by playing just 4 balls against the Mumbai Indians on Sunday.
Mahi came out to bat for the last 4 balls and despite being 42 years of age and playing just the IPL for 4 years, it seemed that he had been batting all year round.
The Wankhede crowd had its money's worth as Dhoni smashed 3 consecutive sixes to begin with and then ran a double to finish at an unbeaten 4-ball-20.
His cameo made sure CSK crossed the 200-run mark and finished the innings at 206/4. Interestingly, it was also Dhoni's 250th match for CSK.
Though MSD is yet to make an official announcement, IPL 2024 may well be his swansong and this might be Dhoni's last innings at the Wankhede Stadium. The same venue where he hit the winning six to help India lift the 2011 World Cup.
