Punjab Kings picked up back-to-back victories for the first time in the current IPL season on Wednesday, beating hosts Chennai Super Kings by seven wickets with 13 balls to spare.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Punjab batter Rilee Rossouw said it was all about being on top of one's game every single delivery, 'We probably got the favour of the conditions tonight with regards to dew coming in the second innings. And it's just about playing our opponent on the day. Anyone can beat anyone here the in the IPL. That's the beauty of the game. You have to be on top of your game every single ball, and for us tonight it came off nicely.'
Rossouw stitched up a 64-run partnership with Jonny Bairstow for the 2nd wicket which helped Punjab get closer to their easy target.
Elaborating on their batting, Rossouw said, 'There wasn't a lot of talking out there, between myself and Jonny, because he's striking the ball really, really well. So we just kind of let the bat, speak for itself.'
He went on to add, 'When he was scoring then I was watching. When I was scoring he was watching. So that camaraderie in the team at the moment with the bat is a positive one for us, especially coming off the win against the (Kolkata) Knight Riders, chasing 260 down.'
