Rajat Patidar has found explosive form in the recent matches in IPL 2024 and the Sunrisers Hyderabad got a first-hand experience of it on Thursday.
The youngster smashed his 2nd-consecutive half-century of the season off just 19 balls. It was also his 3rd score of over fifty in the last 4 outings.
Rajat's knock on Thursday was laced with 5 sixes and 2 boundaries. Interestingly, 4 of those maximums came off consecutive deliveries against Mayank Markande in the 11th over.
He walked out to bat with RCB at 65/2 in 7 overs and stitched a 34-ball-65-run partnership with Virat Kohli.
Despite him getting out straight after his fifty, Patidar took the pressure off Virat and helped RCB drastically improve the scoring rate.
Earlier, Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to bat against SRH.
For the Sunrisers, Jaydev Unadkat came in for Washington Sundar, while RCB fielded the same team.
Bottom-placed RCB are on a six-match losing streak, while SRH has won their last four games to be placed in the third spot.
