Rajat Patidar has now made it a habit of smashing leg spinners in IPL 2024 at will and Rahul Chahar got a first-hand experience of that in Dharamsala on Thursday.
The RCB batter welcomed Chahar to bowling by smashing him for 3 sixes in his very-first over making the PBKS spinner look clueless.
The 30-year-old was dropped on a duck but made the most of his second chance and smashed 55 off just 23 balls. It was also his 4th half-century in last 7 IPL innings. His knock was laced with 6 sixes and 3 boundaries.
Interestingly, Patidar had smashed 4 sixes in a row against SRH's Mayank Markande as well a few games ago.
The moment he got out, the match was interrupted by rain and hailstorm and the covers came on. It was a brief stoppage though as play resumed soon.
Earlier, Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to bowl first in their Indian Premier League match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru here on Thursday.
Liam Livingstone came in for Kagiso Rabada in the Punjab Kings XI, while Lockie Ferguson is playing in place of Glenn Maxwell for RCB.
