Young Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Abhishek Sharma has emerged as one of the best India hopefuls for the future in the 2024 IPL season.

At the post-match conference on Saturday, Sharma was appreciative of the dressing room environment that has enabled him to adapt to his role as a top-order batter.

Sharma alongwith Travis Head has wreaked havoc on every team as SRH openers, rewriting records like child's play.

In 7 games so far, the youngster has scored 257 runs at a massive strike-rate of 215.97.

He elaborated on the coaching staff and Cummins' thought process, '"It was a pretty easy message from all the coaches and our captain (Pat Cummins), I would say. They were pretty clear with all the batters, just go out and express yourself.'

Sharma went on to add, 'I think that's really simple and a powerful message coming from the coach or the captain, because if you see as a youngster or as a batter, a top-order batter, you just have to get that confidence from your captain and coach. I think we got that from day one and it's our job to just go there and just play our game.'

The 23-year-old from Amritsar also gave a glimpse into his relationship with celebrated Australian batter Travis Head.

'Batting with Travis (Head), it's obviously joyful to watch him always. We've been talking a lot off the field so I think that's helping. Obviously he's someone I'm looking forward to bat (with) throughout the season,' Sharma said.

The SRH batter revealed that even before playing with Head in 2024, he was a fan of his game in all three formats.
