Novak Djokovic should have started his defence for the Australian Open title by now but instead the world number 1 reached his hometown of Belgrade in Serbia after being deported from Australia on Monday.
The trouble doesn't end there though as he might not be allowed to take part in the French Open as well. France's vaccine pass law, approved by parliament on Sunday, will require people to have a certificate of vaccination to enter public places. 'This will apply to everyone who is a spectator or a professional sportsperson,' the ministry stated.
However, it added that the situation might change for Roland Garros as it's in May. But there's no exemption.
