Indian men's hockey team settled with a Bronze medal in Asia Cup after the Birendra Lakra-led side defeated Japan 1-0 in the third-place match on Wednesday. India made a stupendous start in the match and took a 1-0 lead early in the first quarter thanks to Rajkumar's field goal.

India continued their dominance in the match and didn't allow the Japanese to score any goal in the remaining three quarters. However, India missed quite a few chances and failed to extend their lead as Japan defended the penalty corners brilliantly.

Earlier, India failed to qualify for the final of the Asia Cup after Korea held them to a 4-4 draw in a must-win game on Tuesday.
