India create history in Hangzhou!

It's just Day 11 of the 2023 Asian Games and the Indian contingent has already assured India of its best-ever medal haul in the competition's history as Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Ojas Deotale clinched gold in the Archery Compound Mixed event on October 4.

A dominant display by the Indian Archers helped India surpass their previous best of 70 medals with the top finish for our archers in the compound event.

It was a close contest for Jyothi and Ojas in the final but they managed to defeat South Korea at the end, with the Indians winning the tie with a score of 149-148.

Earlier in the day, India had started with a bronze medal in the 35km Race Walk Mixed team event which had taken their total to 70 medals before the archers struck gold.

With several events still left to be played, India could well achieve the 100-medal objective in this year's continental tournament.
