India had a fantastic Day 13 at the Asian Games 2023 as they assured over 100 medals. While the total tally is 5 less than 100, India will be sure to cross the mark on the following day.
On October 6, India won a gold in Hockey 9 years after beating defending champions Japan, 2 silver - 1 in Archery, another in Bridge. The Bridge men's team also scripted history as they won first ever silver at Asiad in Games' history.
India won a whopping 6 bronze medals on Day 13. 3 of them came from wrestling with Sonam Malik, Aman Sehrawat, Kiran Bishnoi winning in their respective categories, India women's regu sepaktakraw team also won 1 bronze, the team of Ankita Bhakat, Simranjeet Kaur, Bhajan Kaur also won bronze in women's team recurve archery and the World No. 6 HS Prannoy also scripted history as he won first bronze in men's singles badminton which is the first singles medal for India in the sport since 1982 edition.
India has also entered the finals of the Kabaddi men's and women's events, the final of the archery compound competition and is in cricket finals, so medals will be pouring in on day 14 as well.
India remains at the 4th spot with 22 gold, 34 silver and 39 bronze medals.
