Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and USA's Rajeev Ram marched into the quarterfinals of the mixed doubles of the Australian Open on Sunday.

In the second round match, the Indo-American duo defeated Australia's Ellen Perez and Netherlands Matwe Middlekoop 7-6, 6-4.

The 35-year-old who announced her retirement plan at the Australian Open earlier this week crashed out of the women's doubles event after losing the first-round match.

Meanwhile, Rohan Bopanna's campaign at the Australian Open came to an end after he lost in the first round of both the mixed doubles and men's doubles event.
