Olympic Bronze medallist Bajrang Punia got himself a fourth medal in the World Wrestling Championships as he went on to win bronze by beating Puerto Rico’s Sebastian Rivera 11-9 in the 65Kg category bronze medal match in Belgrade on Sunday.
Punia managed to win the thrilling tie after being 0-6 down in the beginning. This was his third bronze in the championships. He has a World Championship silver medal to his name as well. In fact, he became the first Indian to win four medals at the event.
The 28-year-old had to battle a head injury, which he picked during his pre-quarterfinal bout on Saturday but that couldn't stop Bajrang from finishing at the podium.
Punia's medal brings Team India's medal tally to 2 medals for this year as Vinesh Phogat won bronze earlier in the tournament.
