Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh 'liable to be prosecuted & punished': Delhi Police chargesheet

Quoting from the Delhi Police chargesheet, The Indian Express has reported that Bharatiya Janata Party MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is 'liable to be prosecuted and punished' for the charges pressed against him by the country top six wrestlers.  
 
The newspaper reviewed the chargesheet and reported that the Wrestling Federation of India president has been booked under section 506 for criminal intimidation, 354 for outraging the modesty of a woman, 354A for sexual harassment and 354D for stalking. While the report noted that in one of the cases the offence was ‘repeated and continuing’, the Kaiserganj MP could face prison of up to 5 years.  
 
The report said that the chargesheet mentions 15 incidents of sexual harassment out of which 10 episodes are about inappropriate touching. The report said that the Delhi Police has spoken to 108 witnesses out of whom 15 are wrestlers, coaches and referees who have verified the accusations.  
The newspaper also said that the chargesheet mentions that 'the accused may be summoned to face trial and witnesses... may be called for their examination...’ 
A local court has summoned Singh to appear before it on July 18.
