Canadian province decided to cancel its bid to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games due to rising costs.
A joint bid was being considered by the Canadian province, centred around the cities of Edmonton and Calgary. The bill was estimated at 2.7 billion Canadian dollars.
However, Alberta's Tourism and Sport Minister Joseph Schow said that it was a burden 'too high for the province to bear'.
This development happened less than a month after Australia decided to pull out of hosting the 2026 games in Victoria due to budget constraints.
