Dominic Thiem pulls out Australian Open due to a wrist injury

Austrian Tennis player Dominic Thiem on Tuesday announced that he has pulled out of the upcoming Australian Open which is set to begin from January 17th due to a wrist injury.

Thiem took to Twitter to inform about the development. In a long note, the former World no. 3 who hasn't played since June, when he hurt himself during the Mallorca Open informed that he will now resume his game in Cordoba Open in Argentina which is set to begin by January end.  

Saying that his wrist is in optimal condition, the 28-year-old who has won a single Grand Slam said that he is practising normally with very good intensity. 

I will miss the Australian fans, but I will be back in 2023, he added.
