Star tennis player Naomi Osaka, who has been outspoken over the over mental health issue, is the world's highest-paid female athlete, according to a list published by Forbes.
With $57.3 million in prize money and endorsements, four-time Grand Slam champion Osaka topped the list followed by fellow tennis players Serena Williams with $49.5 million and Venus Williams's $11.3 million.
American gymnast Simone Biles with $10.1 million is third on the list while India two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu is seventh on the list with $7.2 million.
Out of the 10 athletes on the list, five are Tennis players but this is sport's lowest tally in a decade as in 2019 all the top 10 athletes were tennis players.
The ten highest-paid female athletes earned a total of $166.6 million, according to Forbes, a 23 percent increase over the list from 2020.
