French Open organisers are ready to allow Novak Djokovic to defend his title even if the Serbian is not vaccinated as long as the Covid-19 situation in France remains stable.
“At this stage, there is nothing to stop him returning to the courts," French Open director Amelie Mauresmo said.
France lifted many restrictions this week and even allowed unvaccinated people back into restaurants, sports arenas and other venues.

In another development, Russian Tennis star Daniil Medvedev will be allowed to compete at Roland-Garros as a neutral athlete given his country is under various sanctions for waging a war against Ukraine.
This year's French Open is set to begin on May 22.
