Indian shuttler HS Prannoy's resurgence continued as he overtook World Champion Viktor Axelsen to become the new No. 1 in the latest BWF World Tour Rankings.
The Indian star took the pole position by pipping the Dane by more than 2500 points.
30-year-old Prannoy has been incredibly consistent this year and he also played an instrumental role in helping the nation lift their maiden Thomas Cup crown in May.
With his World No. 1 ranking, Prannoy is now one step closer to qualifying for the World Tour Finals which will take place in Guangzhou, China from December 14-18 this year.
