India's top-ranked men's badminton player HS Prannoy reached the quarterfinals of the Malaysia Open with a victory against World No. 19 Chico Wardoyo.
World no. 8 Prannoy saw off a spirited challenge from the Indonesian, winning 21-9, 15-21, 21-16 in 1 hour and 4 minutes.
Apart from Prannoy, the Indian pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty also progressed to the last eight. The pair defeated Indonesia's Shohibul Fikri and Bagas Maulana 21-19, 22-20.
