Iga Swiatek, Rafael Nadal named 2022 ITF World Champions

The International Tennis Federation named Iga Swiatek and Rafael Nadal as the 2022 ITF World Champions on Thursday. 

Both the ace Tennis players won 2 Grand Slams this season. While the Spanish star won the Australian Open and French Open, Swiatek, the Polish player took home the French Open and US Open trophies in 2022. 

The 22-time Grand Slam Champion, despite winning 2 slams this year finished No. 2 in the ATP rankings behind Carlos Alcaraz. Iga Swiatek, however, topped the year-end WTA rankings. 

It's the fifth time Nadal has earned the ITF honor, following 2008, 2010, 2017, and 2019. For the 21-year-old Swiatek who has won 3 Grand Slams, this will be her first time As ITF World Champion.
