In the forthcoming Asian Games 2023, the Indian men's hockey team is set to face off against their arch-rivals Pakistan in a highly anticipated match scheduled for September 30. Meanwhile, the Indian women's hockey team finds themselves in the same pool as South Korea and Malaysia, promising an exciting competition ahead.
Positioned in Group A, the Indian men's team is pitted against Pakistan as well as other contenders such as Japan, Bangladesh, Singapore, and Uzbekistan. Their campaign is set to begin on September 24 with a match against Uzbekistan, followed by clashes against Singapore on September 26 and Japan on September 28. The group stage will culminate with crucial encounters against Pakistan and Bangladesh on September 30 and October 2, respectively.
On the women's side, also placed in Pool A, India's opponents include Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Malaysia. The Indian women's team will initiate their journey against Singapore on September 27, aiming to make a strong start in the tournament.
In the men's Group B, South Korea, Malaysia, China, Oman, Thailand, and Indonesia will vie for supremacy. The women's Group B is comprised of Japan, China, Thailand, Kazakhstan, and Indonesia, showcasing the diverse lineup of participating teams.
All the thrilling hockey matches will unfold at the Gongshu Canal Sports Park Stadium in Hangzhou, China. The climax of the competition will see the men's final taking place on October 6, followed by the women's title clash on the subsequent day.
