Indian chess prodigy R Praggnanandha stuns world no. 1 Magnus Carlsen

R Praggnanandha, an Indian teenager, stunned World No. 1, Magnus Carlsen, ending his run of 3 straight wins in the 8th round of the Airthings Masters which is a 16-player online rapid chess tournament. 

The 16-year-old Grandmaster won with black pieces in 39 moves in a Tarrasch variation game on Monday. After beating the 31-year-old Norwegian, the Indian GM is now at the joint 12th spot with 8 points in 8 rounds. 

Before this, he had defeated Lev Aronian, drew the match against Anish Giri and Quang Liem Le, and also suffered defeat 4 times.
