Ten years since Michael Schumacher's skiing accident, fans continue to remain in the dark about the former Ferrari driver's health.
Schumacher was reportedly left with severe brain damage but apart from that there has been little to no information about his recovery.
December marked ten years since the incident and now his family lawyer has revealed the reason behind the secrecy.
Felix Damm spoke to a German media outlet, 'It was always about protecting private things. We considered whether a final report about Michael's health could be the right way to do this.'
Had the family chosen to go public with the final report, Damm stated, they would be pressurised to reveal timely updates and have no control over when media would stop asking.
'If we then wanted to take action against this reporting, we would have to deal with the argument of voluntary self-disclosure,' he added.
Another German outlet recently revealed that the seven-time F1 Champion has been driven in a Mercedes AMG car to stimulate the brain with familiar sounds.
This was reportedly done given the two decades Schumacher spent as a top-flight racing driver.
